Honestly I came across this product on YouTube when looking at other fire starters and was impressed with how easy the person was able to light it. When I finally got it I wanted to see for myself how easy it was to light. I used one of those survival bracelets that are made of 550 cord, have a compass, and have a striker and flint in the buckle. I am by far not an expert in using this material. All you have to do is cut a small piece off about a half inch wide or smaller if you choose, then rip it open a little so that there are fibers showing. All it takes is a small spark from a bracelet that I used, you could probably get away with using a spark from an old lighter that doesn’t have any fluid left. I haven’t tried that but I believe that would work. It doesn’t really matter if you leave the cardboard casing on or not. I prefer it cause it keeps it a little more centralized and burn a little bit better. Or it will help out a bit if it catches and has a weak flame, the cardboard will help ignite it a bit better. Depending on how big or small of a piece you cut it has an impressive burn time. I have started a handful of fires in my fire pit with this product. For all of the prep guys out there I would recommend this product, its tubular design would make it easy to store in your pack. It’s also really sturdy and solid so you don’t have to worry about crushing it. Unfortunately at the time of this review, it is no longer available. I hope that changes because I would like to get more.

I have used alot of different starters and made my own but this starter is in a class of its own.Burns with entense heat easy to light and flames for along time by using a small amount.If you can’t make or start a fire with this stuff you are on a different planet.

Bought these for camping and they worked rather well and had good burn time. Although they are a little tough to cut thru so be careful but over all. . . I would buy them again.

Not as big as I imagined, but still enough for plenty of fires. To me it’s the same as cotton balls and vaseline just in a nice package. You could diy for less, but the packaging and ease of use/less mess makes it worth the few extra bucks for me.

I bought one of these sticks for a boy scout outing where we taught fire building. I cut a small slice off the end of the stick and used a sparking tool to light the material. Both the internal fibers and the cardboard burn well and are easy to light. I like it better than the Black Beard fire starters that look like a cable or black rope. I will definitely be carrying these in my fire starting kit and will buy it again.

First time buying a fire starter, so I'm not sure if it's a good value. But seems to work really well. Even after sitting out in rain

I am a little upset I did not read what all came with the fire stick, looking at the photos I’m assuming it comes as a set not just the fire stick so don’t be like me make sure you read haha. My son is happy with the stick!

Bought over a year ago. With low expectations. So many camping/survival items fall short of advertising, this one performs extremly well. Both my wife and I were surprised at how well it performed, lenth of burn, and ease of igniting. I would definately buy again, but considering how small amount we used, amount we have promises to last some time. I will definately recommed to anyone looking for fire starters.

This stuff really works well.

As part of a survival tool or for camping, it makes lighting a fire simple. The weight is negligible (why not carry it)

I keep 1 in my wtf bag and 1 in my car. Have lit MANY fires in many complicated ways using literally just surrounding stuff. “Good to know” stuff will always be good to know but holy f this is quick and easy (also any survivalist ppl. Start with a mini bic for f’s sake and adapt accordingly). Also MOST importantly when starting a fire PLEASE no matter how cold you are gather all materials first

On my first attempts, this product was atrocious. Wouldn’t take a spark, could barely burn after torching it with my butane lighter. Would have been 1/5 had the increasing rarity of Army trioxane not forced me to seek alternatives. And helped me actually put two and two together and ACTUALLY REDUCE TINDER like a human being.Since that discovery, it’s been a great product. It takes a spark within ten strikes of a ferro rod (for anyone) once its fully reduced and nested. It burns for surprisingly long for how hot it ends up, and makes fire building a breeze. After fatwood (for sustainability reasons) Fatrope is the tinder I recommend when asked.

I'm a Bush crafter so I light fires to boil water cook food get warm anyway this fire starter from procamptek the fast fire Stick is one of the best fire starters the fire plugs are great too the one thing about them is it's a little difficult to cut them because the wax clogs up your blade and you have to smush it on a rock or if you're strong break it up with your hands it's stuff cause of the wax with that said full disclosure I really like it it's the best fire starter you can buy you can make some really good ones too but that's when you get more experience.
